Becoming A Member

To achieve membership in AGS Sigma Theta, you need by the end of the semester:

Minimum 8 cumulative units completed
Cumulative and semester GPA of 3.0 units or above
Submit an AGS Application of Canvas
Complete the Orientation assignment on Canvas
Pay $15 dues each semester. Instructions on Canvas Assignment
To maintain membership, you must fulfill certain "Point" requirements designated by the chapter. For more information regarding points, read below:

Minimum 12 points completed by the end of the semester to receive membership: (NOTE: Spring 2021 you only need to complete 8 points, in the first two categories:)
- 4 Meeting points: You must attend at least four, one-hour meetings, or read 8 meeting minutes provided on our website. 1 point for each in-person meeting, and a half a point for reading the minutes online
- 4 Community Service points: AGS has many drives and club activities to help you reach your minimum community service requirements. In general, every hour spent volunteering or every five dollars spend is equivalent to one point.
- (OPTIONAL for FALL 2020): 4 Behind The Table points: AGS has Pizza Nights and Bake Sales to help you fulfill this requirement. The Pizza Nights are generally every Wednesday and Thursday night in the school cafeteria. You will receive one point for every hour spent working behind the table, and/or one point for picking up the pizza. Bake sales are twice per month, on Wednesdays or Thursdays in the middle of the day in the quad. One point for every hour spent working

Optional points: Fundraising Donations - there are no requirements for donations for fundraising, but you can accumulate extra points - every $5 spent counts as 1 point. (only when we are doing on-campus fundraisers).

All activities for points must be submitted through Canvas. If you do not have access to the Canvas AGS site, click the link in the box to the right. You will need to submit the form for each activity you complete, but you can specify multiple similar activities (that is, if you read 3 sets of minutes, you could enter 1.5 points - 0.5 per set, and then submit again for donating 4 coats to the coat drive - 4 points).
